Hi my name is Dustin and this is my website, recently my partner wanted to apply for a position that was two levels above her in the federal government sector and whilst she knew she had the capabilities to perform the Job she was reluctant to even try.

The main reason for this was the Selection criteria process.

My partner spend weeks coming home from work and going straight to her computer to keep chipping away at the task at hand. After she had answered each question she would get me to read it and give her feedback then go and make more changes. This went on for a while then I said why don’t you ask someone within the company with the experience and knowledge how it is supposed to look?

Well sometimes the simplest things are the hardest ones to see, anyway that’s exactly what she did and she got shortlisted and got the job.

Congratulations baby!

Why am I telling you this? well it’s the beginning of an idea, I tend to try to make things easier for the people around me if I can and the selection criteria process took two weeks of my partners down time.

If you can put a dollar figure on that I guess it would be a 42 hour work week, based on three hours a night for 14 days.

Next was my mum, due to economic downturn her bed and breakfast business was really slow, she had to get a job for the first time in years. My Mum had to get a job, she’s been working for herself for well as long as I can remember.

The point is my Mum had to go through the job seeking process and she wanted to work in the Public sector, so again the daunting task of putting together a Selection Criteria.

Well my mum is not the sort of person to waste her time working out how a selection criteria and cover letter should look, she went straight to an agency who prepared everything for her for just shy of $500.00.

Well she wasn’t happy to say the least, she told the agency what she wanted in the application and they said “no no Sara trust us you need to keep it brief about your experience ….” When my mum rang to find out if she had been shortlisted the lady told her unfortunately your Application was too brief there simply wasn’t enough information in there about your history and capabilities.

Wow what a shock, my mum got a job in the end not the job she wanted but a cleaning job and we’ve since spent some money advertising her business and built the clientele back up again.

MySelectionCriteria.com.au was born

I figured there has to be a better way for people to get Selection Criteria applications compiled and submitted without all of the stress. So I started doing some research and found that there were quite a few options out there for people, they probably just don’t know that they are there.

This site is built to benefit people who want to produce the best Selection Criteria they can with all of the knowledge available to them.

I hope you enjoy the site and can benefit from it, feel free to contact me after hours.

Wishing you ultimate success
